PST Split Process
There are following steps to split PST file:
- PST File Selection
- PST Split Option
- PST Split Status
1. PST File Selection:
You have two options to select PST file for the further process.
- Browse: Using the 'Browse…' option you can browse the PST file from the file location on the disk and then you can select the PST file which you desired to further process.

OR
- Search: The 'Search' option helps you to search PST files from the specific directory on disk, then you can select the desired file to add for further process.

- Once you select the PST file which you need to add for the split process, then click the OK button.

- The selected PST file will appear in the selection bar, and the file description will also be shown in the PST file description. Then click the Next button. After that PST Split Options window will open.
2. PST Split Options:
Split option page has three parts:
- Target Folder: This option allows the user to give the desired target location anywhere on the disk by selecting the browse option and giving the desired path to keep it.
- Select sub-folder: In this part, the folder will show with sub-folders following the folder hierarchy and allow you to choose which folder(s) you need to split.
- Split Options: This consists of several options that will help you to select the suitable criteria for which you want to split the PST file:
- By Size: Split by size splits PST file according to size it allows you to split pst file into pieces of 10 MB - 51200 MB and 1 GB - 50 GB.
- By Date: Split by date allows you to split PST file according to the selected date range by using date criteria, and it also supports selecting multiple Date Range. It also facilitates users to Create a Single PST file for multiple Date Range or Create a separate PST file for each Date Range.
- By Year: Split by Year is almost the same as the split by using date criteria, and also allows splitting a PST file according to the given Year Range. In this option users also can Create a single file for multiple Year Ranges or Create a separate PST file of each Year Range.
- Selected folder in single PST: This option will create a single PST file containing only those folders, which you have checked.
- Selected folder in multiple PST: This option will create separate PST files that you have selected multiple folders.

Note: Here we will only describe the 'By Date' split option. The same steps will be applicable for "By Year" split options and other options can be applied just using a specific radio button. You can select any split option as you desire to use.
Follow as per description:
- Select the By Date option from the given split options then a Date Range dialog will open. You can add multiple Date Range using the Add button. (The Remove button placed here to help you if you need to remove the added Date Range.)
- After adding the Date Ranges, if you want to create a single PST file for all added date range, then you must choose to "Create Single PST file for multiple Date Rang" option or if you need to create a separate PST file for each selected Date Range, then you must choose "Create separate PST file for each Date Range".
Apply any one from the below-given criteria.
- Last Modification Time.
- Message Delivery Time.
- Message Creation Time.
- Client Submit Time.

After applying all the obligatory, then click the OK button.

- Once you have applied one of the given split options, according to the necessity. Then click the Next button. After that, Split Status will perform in the next window.
3. PST Split process Status:
- In the status section, you can see the status of the current PST split process. Through the status window, you can check the number of items count, running status, Target folder, and Operation type of a selected PST file in report format.

- After getting a message "Process completed successfully". then click the OK button.

- You can save the full report in HTML file format on a local disk through the Export Report button.

- After doing the split process and export report successfully, then End the process through the Finish button.
