NSF Merge Process
There are three steps to merge NSF files as following:
- NSF Files Selection
- Merge Options
- Merge Status
1. NSF Files Selection
The file selection window consists of four functions, you have two ways to select NSF files for the further process.

Add: Using the Add button, you can scan and select the desired NSF files from the file location on the disk to further process.

OR
- Search: The 'Search' option is an advantageous option that serves you to explore NSF files from the specific directory on disk. Then you can select the desired two or more IBM Notes (.nsf) files to add for further process.

- Select the necessary file to add for further process, then click the OK button.

- Once you select the NSF files using Add button or Search button, All selected NSF files will display in the file selection list. Before originating the process, if you want to remove undesired NSF files from the file selection list, there are two options to remove selected NSF files.
Remove: This button will remove undesired NSF files from the file selection list. To delete the unwanted NSF file select the undesired files from the list and then click the Remove button.
Remove All: This button helps you to remove all NSF files in one go from the file selection list.If you need to remove all NSF files from the list, then click the Remove All button.
After making all the required actions to select the desired NSF files by using the add or search option. Now, click the Next button to add the listed files for further process. After that resulting window seems "Merge Options".
2. NSF Merge Options
The merge option window consists of three parts to do the merge process.

- Target Folder: Browse the destination anywhere on the disk where you need to save the new NSF file through the Browse.. button before applying the merge options.
- NSF Options: NSF option has two records File Name and Store Name that will help you to combine/merge the NSF file in suitable standards:
- File Name: In this record, you can insert the name for the new NSF file according to you, and can proceed with the default name NSF file.
- Store Name: At this record, provide the store name for the new NSF file, if you want another store name change it or can proceed with the default store name.
- Merge Options: Merge Options are available Merge NSF Files, Join NSF Files, and Merge Contacts. Select any option as per your necessity:
- Merge NSF Files: Merge NSF file option helps you to merge multiple NSF files into a single NSF file, along with a single folder hierarchy for all added NSF files.
- Join NSF Files: Using this option, you can join two or more NSF files into a single NSF file along with a separate folder hierarchy for each added NSF file.
- Merge Contacts: This facility works to merge contacts of selected multiple NSF files into one single NSF file.
The next section of the process will allow you to Exclude Duplicate Items and Exclude 'All Documents' folder from the resultant NSF file.
- Exclude Duplicate Items: This option is assigned to eliminate duplicate items from the new NSF file.
- Exclude 'All Documents' folder: This option is specified to skip the merging of items from the "All Documents" folder from the new NSF file. (This option will not be available for the 'Merge contacts' option)
Note: Here, we are processing with the 'Merge NSF files' option. You can proceed with selecting any option according to your obligation by applying a particular radio button. The same moves will be relevant for the other provided options.
3. NSF Merge Status
- Following all the above steps, the status of the current process will perform in the status window. You can see the process status like Items Count, Running status, Target folder, and Operation type of added NSF files. Once the process gets completed, you can export the complete report in an HTML file format through the Export Report button.

- You can stop the process through the Stop button. Else, after getting a message "Process completed successfully", then click the OK button.

- Now, the Export Report button will be enabled. Using this, you can save the entire report of the process in an HTML file format.

After making the NSF merge process and export the report precisely into a disk, then click on the Finish to end the process.
