Using the Power shell command

It carries a command-line interface which mainly helps the users to access the database and its status. Start following the below commands one by one.

To add mailbox export to PST. Use the following command.

New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox testuser1 -FilePath “\\SERVER01\PSTFiles\testuser1.pst

Now, if you want to include the folder (i.e. Include – Sent Item and Drafts)

New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox testuser1 -FilePath “\\SERVER01\PSTFiles\testuser1.pst -Include Folder “#Sent Item #”, “#Drafts#”

From this command one can replace the include folder by exclude folder (i.e. Exclude- SentItem and Drafts)

New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox testuser1 -FilePath “\\SERVER01\PSTFiles\testuser1.pst -ExcludeFolder “#SentItem #”, “#Drafts#”

If you want to set the data range to export any email from a particular day onwards or downwards then, in that condition use -ContentFilter(i.e. for 05/03/2017(5th march 2017))

New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox testuser1 -FilePath “\\SERVER01\PSTFiles\testuser1.pst -ContentFilter {(Received –gt ‘05/03/2017)}

Let’s suppose you want to set the date range between for example 05/03/2017(5th march 2018) to 05/06/2018(5th June 2018)) then by applying this command you can easily get the result.

New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox testuser1 -FilePath “\\SERVER01\PSTFiles\testuser1.pst -ContentFilter {(Received –lt ‘05/03/2017) -and (Received –gt ‘05/06/2018)}

Limitations of the manual method

The manual method does not support the earlier Exchange versions.
There are more chances of failure due to human error.
High chances of data loss during export Exchange 2019 mailbox to PST.
